Concrete Pool Decks in Warminster & Bucks County

A pool deck has to be slip-resistant, drain away from the pool, stay cooler underfoot, and handle constant water and chlorine without spalling. First Class Concrete pours new pool decks and replaces cracked or settled ones around in-ground pools across Warminster, Bucks County, and the nearby suburbs.

Drainage and slip resistance come first

Every pool deck we pour slopes gently away from the pool so splash-out and rain run to the yard or a drain instead of back into the water or toward the house. Expansion joints around the coping let the deck and the pool shell move independently through freeze-thaw cycles without cracking.

For the surface, a medium broom finish or exposed aggregate gives bare feet traction. Lighter colors stay cooler in summer sun than dark stamped patterns, and we can add a non-slip additive to any sealer.

Replacing a failed pool deck

Older pool decks often settle where the backfill around the pool shell was never properly compacted, leaving trip edges at the coping and cracks that widen every winter. We remove the old deck, correct the base, and pour new so the surface is level with the coping and drains properly.

We coordinate with your pool company on timing so the deck work fits around opening, closing, or any shell or coping repairs.

FAQ

Pool Decks questions before you call

What is the best finish for a pool deck?

Broom finish and exposed aggregate are the most slip-resistant. Stamped concrete looks great but should be sealed with a non-slip additive. Lighter colors stay cooler on bare feet.

How wide should the deck be around the pool?

Three to four feet is the minimum for walking around the pool. Plan on eight to twelve feet on at least one side if you want room for lounge chairs and a table.

Can you pour the deck before the pool is finished?

The deck usually goes in after the pool shell and coping are set. We coordinate with your pool builder so the timing works.

Why did my old pool deck crack and sink?

Usually because the backfill around the pool shell settled over time. We correct the base before pouring the new deck so it stays level.
